SERVICE & MOT
The M.O.T (Ministry of Transport Test Certificate) does not apply to all vehicles. If you are fortunate and can afford to buy a brand-new vehicle the manufacturer’s warranty will cover you for the first three years.
Once your vehicle is over three years old you will need to get a MOT. Your vehicle will be tested to the highest standard and if it passes your vehicle will be judged to be of the legal standard for the next twelve months.
This is subject to you ensuring that you maintain your vehicle to this standard. You are obliged by law to keep your vehicle roadworthy whilst using it on public highways.
Modern vehicles have greater service intervals. This is generally dictated by the manufacturer. If you have a newer vehicle and fail to get your car serviced at the correct intervals, you could void your warranty. There are both major and intermediate services. In all cases ensure that you get your service book for the vehicle stamped as this will also help when the time comes to sell your vehicle.
On this page there are picture links to both MOT centres and service stations. Most of the major garages do both. If your MOT expires then the only time you can legally drive your vehicle is to a pre booked test at the MOT station.
Local knowledge is also very important when maintaining your vehicle to its high standard. Fleet service centre is one of our local dealers who have proved to be excellent in all departments, whether it is a service or preparation for an MOT. Clive and Ryan are two of the most professional guys that you could meet.
