DVSA DVLA

The ability to check your driving licence is at your finger tips, the link above to view your licence will keep you up to date with any changes that have been made to your licence. You will be able to check your provisional categories and supply information to a third party that requires your driving licence information. Supplying this information can be very important when securing insurance or buying a car. You will need your licence number, national insurance number and the post code on your licence.

STEP 1: The first requirement is to obtain a provisional licence. The DVLA link above will take you to the government site. This site will explain the process of gaining a licence.

STEP 2: Once you have obtained your provisional entitlement, finding a recommended driving instructor is a must.

The link above will help, you can also take advice from friends who are already on the road. Learning to drive can take up to 40 hours, it can be very expensive. Being comfortable with your instructor is a very important part of learning.

If you are just beginning the process of obtaining a large good vehicle licence (LGV), there are several steps you will have to take to achieve this goal. Follow the steps below and use the links provided to the left of each step.
STEP 1:

The first requirement is to make sure you have the correct provisional entitlements. For this you will need D2 and D4 forms which you will find at any main Post Office. You will also need to undertake a LGV medical. After the
examination your doctor will complete the D4 section and forward it to the DVSA on your behalf. The cost of this examination varies. You can also research this process online.
STEP 2:
Once you have obtained your provisional entitlement our advice is to get the theory and hazard perception passed as soon as possible. This is purely down to the short length of the practical training courses. You will not be able to book a practical test without a current theory certificate number.

STEP 5: Once your driving instructor thinks you are ready to book your practical assessment you will need to do this online. Click or touch the picture tile.

You should automatically be sent your CPC card once you have competed all four stages, however the link below will explain the process, it will also give you additional information in respect of keeping this card live.
